This years Christmas light switch on in St Ives will take place on Sunday the 24th November at 5pm. The Christmas event is always a popular one with thousands of visitors turning out to see the town market square light up for another year of festive fun. Visitors can expect lots of surprises and of course we are fairly certain Father Christmas himself will be making an appearance. I sent a letter to Lapland back in September just to make sure Santa would be available for the event and it is all looking very promising that he is available to attend.

Evolution Dome’s Turtle GTS Bone event structure was used for the BBC’s Bang Goes The Theory Tour. Part of the structure will now be used for the St Ives Christmas Lights Switch On.

Evolution Dome are a local event structure company based in Warboys near St Ives. The event structure specialists will be providing the event with a range of all their services including, power, sound and lighting, as well as their Turtle GTS inflatable event structure. The same event structure was used for the BBC’s Bang Goes The Theory Tour. The event structure also made an appearance earlier this year at another St Ives event. It was used as stage cover for the St Ives Music Festival. The international event company are always on hand to support local events in any way that they can. I caught up with Helen Parr who is an event organiser for Evolution Dome. She told us this, “We are excited to be a part of this years St Ives Christmas lights switch on. It is always a wonderful event that brings the community together. We had great success earlier this year with the St Ives Music Festival and we are very much looking forward to working with St Ives Town Council for future events”

Here’s to another successful ‘Switch On’ in St.Ives. Don’t panic, I’m not about to wish you a Merry Christmas just yet, but keep the 24th of November in your diary!
